John Coolidge, Calvin Coolidge And The President Of The...

He was born on July, 4th, 1872 and in Plymouth North, Vermont and died on January 5th, 1933 in Northampton, Massachusetts, and they couldn’t tell if he was dead or not because of his shy personality and many people questioned it. He was known for many names like, John Calvin Coolidge, Calvin Coolidge, and John Coolidge. He was a farmer, and his mom died when he was 12 and then his sister died a few years following. His son Calvin Jr, died from an infected splinter, he had 2 children and was known as a strict father. In 1905, he married Grace Anna Goodhue, who was a teacher for the deaf. He went to Amherst College and graduated in 1895. He was a lawyer. He liked to ride mechanical horses as much as he could, and when he would do it, he would act like he was a cowboy. He was the 30th president of the United States and was president from 1923 to 1929. He was a Republican. In the office he was known for his quiet demeanor which was called, â€Å"Silent Cal.† And he was also called â€Å"Smiley.† He was nominated in 1924. During the election, he didn’t just win the presidency but he also won the popular vote by 25 million more votes over his opponent(s) combined total. He was the first president to attend cabinet meeting and had addressed congress in December giving the first presidential speech to be broadcasted to the nation on the radio.
